Trail Purse
One thing I have been working on lately is a small lightweight "purse" to put items in that I don't want falling out of my pack (car keys, wallet, cell phone, etc.). These are items I also don't like leaving in my tent if I am set up in camp and want to wander away.
I am on my 4th prototype and might have a workable version now. Making gear is fun for me, and I love coming up with new ideas.

This version is fully lined, with cord "handles" that also serve to close the top. It fits quite a bit in it, but the cording isn't long enough to wear as a backpack. The cording does work well as a handle though.
It is about 10" wide and 11" high. So far, this version works great for stuffing into my backpack at the trailhead.
I am sure I will be onto version 5 soon enough. Maybe one that can be worn as a pack if needed and big enough to carry a water filter and bottles for long treks to a stream.
