About TrailDivas.com

The idea of traildivas.com came to me as I hiked with my friend Ldyblade across the backbone of the Issaquah Alps, in Washington State. That morning we had drove as high as we could, and waited for the sunrise to come up. We stood there and watched the sun come over the Cascade Mountains, golden light spilling over Mount Baker, so far away. I realized what I had always known: for me hiking isn't something I just do. I do it because I have to. I crave being outside to the point that I will hike year round, be it rain or snow. Be it sandals, trail runners, boots or snowshoes. As long as I am out there, that is all that matters. And I know I am not alone in this. But it isn't always easy. Life and reality gets in the way. For many women there is the pulling that everything in your life does to you. Add in kids, a husband and a job and life gets very hard to have your time. It doesn't help if halfway thru you decide you would like to maybe start hiking, and no one else wants to. We hope to do with this site is to help other women learn skills and to get out there!
